Whistler isn’t exactly Canada’s best kept secret anymore, but boutique hotels are still hidden around the popular ski area. The Nita Lake Lodge is one such hotel that seems to blend modern minimalism with a luxe twist to upgrade the rustic stylings of a typical mountain retreat.
The lodge rooms start at an already-low $179 per night and boast geothermal floor heating and spacious modern bathrooms (see image at right). Private shuttle service to the lifts is included, and guests are encouraged to take advantage of the Sunday brunch by the lake; most of the restaurant’s ingredients are picked from local and organic farmers.
