Arguments are set to come in from both sides today on whether or not private flights should be subject to T.S.A. regulations, according to the New York Times. In October of last year, the agency [published](http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2008/pdf/E8-23685.pdf) its notice of proposed rulemaking, and had private jet owners [simmering](http://jets.halogenguides.com/articles/1388-tsa-to-regulate-private-aviation-say-it-isn-t-so) in no time. The proposed regulation could affect 10,000 new jet operators, small and large alike.
Contenders against the F.A.A.‘s case cite new and undue cost burdens, and suspect an insincere power grab, as the federal agency intends to actually outsource regulatory oversight. If the legislation passes, it won’t take effect until spring, but feel free to weigh-in with your own praises or suspicions. Send us a line at info at halogenguides dot com.
