As winter golfers head south this year, the softening economy has churned up more deals for those hitting the links. Preferred Hotel Group’s [Preferred Golf Club](http://www.preferredgolf.com/preferredgolf/index.aspx) offers members free rounds of golf in exchange for an annual membership fee of $295, and this year is throwing in bonus savings at several resorts in Florida.
Through January 31, Preferred Golf Club members who stay two nights at the [Ginn Hammock Beach Resort](http://www.hammockbeach.com/) in Palm Coast, Fla. can get a third night free. The resort has two courses, including the Jack Nicklaus-designed Ocean Course which sits adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean.
The [WaterColor Inn & Resort](http://www.watercolorresort.com/resort_home.aspx) in Santa Rosa Beach is offering members a $100 dining or spa credit through March 12. The resort has a partnership with the nearby Tom Fazio-designed Camp Creek Golf Club.
Several participating resorts are throwing in free rounds of golf. Members can get unlimited rounds of golf with a two-night stay at the [Ginn Reunion Resort](http://www.preferredhotels.com/preferred_hotel/hotels/index.aspx?id=62359) in Orlando through the end of January. Guests at Orlando’s [Villas of Grand Cypress](http://www.grandcypress.com/), which has 45 holes of Jack Nicklaus-designed greens, is offering members—and up to two guests—a free round of golf with each two night stay, a $100 savings per guest.
